Thief Bites Off Half of Police Station Chief's Ear in Bugweri Raid

Police in Bugweri District launched a nighttime operation over Easter after locals in Idudi Town Council reported surging thefts. The raid led to the arrest of 18 young suspects linked to a theft gang.
During the confrontation, Jamil Mulondo attacked OC Station Robert Nagoro with a machete. The officer dodged, restrained him, but Mulondo then bit off half of Nagoro’s left ear.
Busoga East Police Spokesperson Michael Kasadha confirmed the incident, noting recovery of seven stolen mobile phones and a TV set. Mulondo faces attempted murder charges, while others are charged with theft.
Among the suspects are Tarvin Kirunda (17), Aziz Magumba (21), Kenneth Lwayi (17), Hamidu Kisambira (18), Aaron Kasadha (20), Jackson Sajabi (20), Salim Kaziba (20), Abasi Kisambira (20), Kuzaifa Mudasi (29), Binasali Mudasi (18), Rahim Tenywa (22), Twahiri Muwaya (20), Sudaisi Kisambira (20), Grace Mulongo (25), Aminsi Walyaka (21), Rahim Matende (21), Aramanzan Musobya (17), and Jamada Mulondo.
Salim Kaziba and Twahiri Muwaya were with female juveniles aged 17 and 13, leading to defilement charges. Investigations continue for more suspects.
