Bishop Robert K. Muhiirwa of Fort Portal Catholic Diocese delivered an Easter message at his residence in Fort Portal City, urging Christians to reflect on Jesus’ passion, death, and resurrection.

He highlighted Christ’s patience, trust in God, and forgiveness even from the cross, encouraging believers to stay hopeful amid sickness, misunderstandings, or oppression by fully surrendering to God.

The bishop pointed to St. Peter’s denial and restoration as a lesson in reconciliation, noting that patient suffering inspires caregivers and medical staff.

He advised couples to foster peace at home, reject domestic violence, and safeguard children for strong family units.

Addressing church and societal leaders, Bishop Muhiirwa stressed responsible service and post-election reconciliation through dialogue and forgiveness to heal divisions from political tensions.

He voiced concerns over rising moral issues like noise pollution and nightlife, which foster laziness, poor school performance, sexual immorality, and HIV/AIDS spread.

Parents were called to vigilantly guide teenagers away from such environments to secure their futures and avoid family burdens.

As Easter unfolds, he implored Christians to shun sin, pursue holiness, and witness the risen Christ through honest actions for peace and responsible citizenship.
