Uganda is actively promoting its tourism and investment prospects at the Tourism Plus Expo in Shanghai, China. The event, held from March 29 to 31 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre, gathers global tourism players, investors, and exhibitors.
The Ugandan pavilion offers visitors cultural artefacts, local crafts, and vibrant dance shows, branding the nation as the ‘Pearl of Africa.’ Embassy representatives emphasize the expo’s role in elevating Uganda’s status through its wildlife, scenic landscapes, and welcoming culture.
Exhibits spotlight national parks, mountain gorillas, diverse fauna, and rich heritage, with live performances captivating crowds and providing authentic cultural immersion.
Participation is set to unlock new markets, build ties with travel partners, and draw funds into hospitality. This follows Uganda’s strong showing at the China International Import Expo in November.
The effort aligns with broader strategies to increase tourist numbers, foreign revenue, and leverage attractions like gorilla trekking, savannah safaris, the River Nile, and eco-tourism.
As a premier Chinese travel event, the expo attracts thousands worldwide.
