Retired Bishop James William Ssebagala of Mukono Diocese called for stronger collaboration between parents and schools to lay a solid foundation for students’ futures.
Speaking at Ndejje Senior Secondary School’s celebration of its 2025 UCE and UACE results on Sunday, he stressed that career guidance deserves the same priority as physical infrastructure such as classrooms and labs, as it fosters well-rounded citizens.
“Parents are key in shaping learners’ futures,” the bishop remarked, countering the notion that they only pay fees. He highlighted their prayers and involvement as vital blessings for students aiming to become responsible citizens.
Bishop Ssebagala credited the school’s success to investments in education infrastructure, career guidance, and Christian-based discipline. He also officiated the commissioning of the school’s new main gate and multi-purpose complex block.
Canon David Balaba Ssenkungu, the head teacher, attributed the achievements to joint efforts from the school foundation, staff, government, and parents.
