Nile Breweries Limited (NBL) has exciting news for Ugandan soccer enthusiasts ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As part of AB InBev’s worldwide FIFA partnership, the Nile Special brand kicked off its campaign last week, promising to send lucky winners to watch matches live on the US East Coast.
With the Uganda Cranes unlikely to qualify and US visas harder to obtain, many fans might have shelved their World Cup dreams. Nile Special aims to change that by offering all-expenses-paid trips to venues in New Jersey and Philadelphia for a five-day experience.
At the launch event in Kampala, the brand was dubbed ‘Muggaga,’ meaning ‘rich boss,’ to celebrate Ugandan passion and resilience. Marketing manager Eric Malinga explained the entry process: purchase two Nile Specials at one of 150 activated bars nationwide, receive a scratch card with a QR code, scan it, and enter the draw.
NBL Managing Director Nkanyiso Mncwabe emphasized creating meaningful connections through football, bringing people together for unforgettable moments. The three-week activation ends with a grand draw in April, giving winners a shot to see stars like Kylian Mbappé of France, Sadio Mané of Senegal, and Brazil’s squad.
The tournament runs from June 11 to July 19 across Canada, Mexico, and the United States with 48 teams and 16 venues.
