Moses Omaido, a 44-year-old senior human resource manager in Uganda’s Ministry of Local Government, was stabbed to death in his bedroom on Thursday morning in Kamuli A Zone, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.
The incident involved two women who had stayed overnight at his residence. Police report that Omaido had romantic ties with both; one, the alleged stabber and former partner, shared his bedroom, while the current lover slept in the sitting room.
As Omaido prepared for work, the woman he spent the night with tried to stop him from leaving, sparking an argument that turned violent. He suffered a neck wound and stumbled out seeking help in Kireka, where he collapsed and died.
His current girlfriend, who was in the bathroom during the altercation, emerged to find blood trails but no one in the house. Omaido’s body was later discovered along a path near his home in a pool of blood.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachael Kawala confirmed the arrest of the current lover to aid inquiries, with efforts underway to capture the main suspect.
Omaido’s remains were taken to a mortuary for postmortem examination.
