Singer Nina Roz recently addressed rumors about her political allegiance after appearing at an event hosted by Minister Norbert Mao at his Rubaga residence.

The gathering marked the passage of the Copyright Amendment Bill and drew creative industry figures, sparking speculation due to Roz’s ties to the National Unity Platform (NUP).

In a TV interview, Roz clarified: “I attended as a musician to celebrate our recent victory. I’m still an active NUP member, but not representing them there.”

She noted the invitation came directly from Mao, separate from the Uganda National Musicians Federation, which she no longer supports.

This statement highlights the blending of politics and music advocacy in Uganda’s creative scene.
