The Assistant Bishop of Kampala, Rt Rev. Canon Frederick Baalwa, called on Members of Parliament to actively promote and enact beneficial laws for Uganda. This message came during his sermon at the Easter Carol Service held in the Parliament Conference Hall on March 26, 2026.

Organized by the Parliamentary Anglican Chaplaincy under the theme ‘Christ Our Ultimate Peace,’ the event commemorated Jesus Christ’s resurrection. Bishop Baalwa noted that the positive actions of the 11th Parliament’s MPs would inspire future legislators.

He offered consolation to MPs defeated in the recent general elections, assuring them that ‘it is not the end of the world.’ Emphasizing surrender to Christ for true peace, he stated that hope enables perseverance amid challenges.

Drawing from his own life, the bishop shared how relocating from Mukono Diocese to Kampala propelled him to his current role. ‘When one door shuts, God opens another,’ he encouraged, urging faith in divine plans.

Attendees included Government Chief Whip Hon. Denis Hamson Obua, who chairs the Anglican Parliamentary Chaplaincy Council, along with other MPs and guests.
