Uganda’s Cricket Cranes wrapped up their Namibia tour on a high note with disciplined bowling in the final 50-over match in Windhoek, though rain forced abandonment.
After leaking 303 runs and 27 extras in the series opener, Uganda bounced back sharply, bowling Namibia out for 159 in 30 overs while conceding just one extra. The game was cut to 35 overs per side due to earlier rain delays.
Spinner Joseph Baguma starred with 4/42, supported by Bilal Hassun’s 2/17. Coach Steve Tikolo praised the improved discipline and fight shown by his side.
Uganda’s chase faltered early at 35/4 after controversial dismissals, including skipper Riazat Ali Shah’s two-ball duck. Kenneth Waiswa and Anas Baig steadied things at 53/4 in 19 overs when rain stopped play.
Namibia coach Craig Williams noted Uganda’s progress ahead of upcoming ICC events. Vice-captain Juma Miyaji highlighted bowling strengths but stressed batting improvements.
New talents like Gerald Olipa, Anas Baig, and Charles Musemeza gained key experience. Despite the 3-1 tour loss, Uganda heads home building momentum for CWC Challenge League B and T20 qualifiers.
