Popular TikToker Ibrahim Musana, widely recognized as Pressure 247, appeared in Kampala City Hall Court on Thursday expecting possible bail. Instead, Grade One Magistrate Edgar Karakire ruled that he must stay on remand at Luzira Prison until formally presented at Buganda Road Court.

The transfer stems from a directive by Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Ritah Neumbe Kidasa, who invoked her supervisory powers to move the case file from City Hall Court.

Musana, a resident of Asante Apartments in Kyanja, Nakawa Division, is accused of unlawfully using Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s photo and name without consent on March 9, 2026, violating Section 35 of the Data Protection and Privacy Act. Prosecutors also charge him with hate speech under the Computer Misuse Act for TikTok posts (@pressure247) questioning the Chief of Defence Forces’ fitness, seen as demeaning.

In court, Musana pleaded not guilty, claiming his comments aimed to warn the general against using the name ‘Luwangula,’ which he says belongs to his ancestors.

The case gained attention after Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka ordered a halt to prosecutions under the now-annulled Computer Misuse Act, fueling release speculation. However, no ruling has clarified its impact yet.

This marks Musana’s second legal tangle over social media; a prior September 2025 case at Buganda Road Court was dismissed for lack of prosecution.
