Kazibwe Kapo, a musician turned critic, has strongly condemned Ronald Mayinja for allegedly betraying Robert Kyagulanyi, known as Bobi Wine, and the National Unity Platform (NUP) in exchange for cash.
This criticism follows Mayinja’s announcement that he quit the NUP after disputes over a parliamentary candidacy in Gomba district.
Kapo rejected Mayinja’s explanation, insisting that money was the sole motivator behind the veteran artist’s decision to oppose the party and its leader.
“He betrayed him for money and nothing more than that,” Kapo stated, expressing disbelief at the turn of events.
He pointed out that Mayinja and Bobi Wine shared a profound personal friendship that extended far beyond their musical collaborations, making the accusations particularly surprising.
The exchange has intensified tensions in Uganda’s political and entertainment circles, leaving fans split on the credibility of each side in this public dispute.
