Kluivert Kisolo Wins UMU Nkozi Student Union Presidency in Tight Race

Kluivert Emmanuel Kisolo has emerged victorious in the Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) Nkozi Students’ Union election, securing 554 votes against 308 for his rival, Vellonica Ayesiga. The results were announced by Electoral Commission chairman Julius Nsubuga.

The election wrapped up a vibrant campaign where candidates addressed key student concerns across campus. Students praised the peaceful and competitive atmosphere.

Esther Namugwe commended the contestants for their healthy rivalry and mutual respect. Kisolo expressed gratitude to voters and committed to enhancing learning and growth at UMU Nkozi.

His platform emphasized student welfare, academic support, and campus security. Ayesiga focused on gender equity and mental health, congratulating Kisolo and pledging continued service.

The process, overseen by UMUSU’s Electoral Commission, was deemed free, fair, and transparent with strong voter turnout. Kisolo, the 32nd president succeeding Horace Asher Asiimwe, will be sworn in soon to tackle issues like tuition, library access, and recreation.

As with other private Ugandan universities, the elections were non-partisan.
