Juergen Klopp, the ex-Liverpool manager now serving as Red Bull’s head of global soccer, has firmly rejected speculation about replacing Real Madrid’s current coach Alvaro Arbeloa.

The 58-year-old German departed Anfield after nine successful years at the end of the 2023-24 season, securing major trophies like the Premier League and Champions League.

Real Madrid turned to former reserve team coach and ex-player Arbeloa in January after sacking Xabi Alonso due to poor results and dressing room issues.

Speaking at the Magenta TV World Cup team presentation, Klopp dismissed the talk: “If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now.” He added that neither he nor his agent received any calls, calling the rumors “nonsense.”

While not actively seeking a new role, Klopp noted he’s “not completely finished” as a coach. “For my age, I’m quite advanced in life, but as a coach I’m not completely finished,” he said, leaving the door open for future opportunities.

Klopp, with past stints at Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund, has repeatedly stated he would only ever manage Liverpool in England.
