Politician Fred Mukasa Mbidde has ignited controversy by accusing National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, of traveling to the United States to obtain citizenship.
In a radio interview, Mbidde stated that he received insider information from a well-placed contact. He added that Bobi Wine had sent his family ahead while he follows to complete the application.
Pressed for proof, Mbidde refused, calling the details classified.
This comes soon after Bobi Wine announced his temporary departure from Uganda to meet global partners and push his political goals. No response has come from Bobi Wine on these unverified claims.
