Musician King Saha has ignited debate in Uganda’s music scene by attributing the recent Copyright Amendment Bill primarily to Bobi Wine.

In a YouTube interview, Saha explained that government officials had overlooked the bill until Bobi Wine directed artist-turned-politician Hilderman to present it formally in Parliament, prompting swift action.

“Bobi Wine drove the amendment—no one else merits the praise. They ignored it until Hilderman’s intervention caused alarm,” Saha stated.

He criticized Eddy Kenzo and the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) for merely creating buzz without substantial input.

Saha’s comments underscore deepening rifts in the industry regarding recognition for advancing musicians’ rights.
