Kampala Forex Bureau Guard Remanded on Arson and Theft Charges

A security guard named Abraham Opedun, working for Safetec Security Company Ltd, faced court on Wednesday in connection with a fire at a Kampala forex bureau.

Authorities accuse him of deliberately starting the blaze and stealing cash from the premises. The incident has raised concerns about security lapses in the capital’s financial hubs.

The Buganda Road Court Magistrate ordered Opedun’s remand as investigations continue into the arson and theft case.
