The Holi festival, famous for its bursts of color symbolizing renewal and joy, took on added significance this year at Kampala Parents School. Hosted by the East Indian Cultural Association (EICA), the two-day musical event transformed into a vibrant platform for raising cancer awareness.

In Uganda, cancer often strikes silently, with many cases reaching advanced stages due to low awareness and delayed screenings. EICA leveraged the festival’s lively atmosphere to promote early detection, routine check-ups, and prompt treatment, extending their rural outreach programs into a festive community setting.

As night fell around 8 PM, attendees arrived in traditional attire like flowing sarees and embroidered kurtas, filling the grounds with laughter and excitement. Families gathered, children played, and the event fostered a sense of unity and cultural pride.

Kansai Plascon supported the initiative, with Managing Director Santosh Gumte praised for his contributions. He emphasized the role of such events in tackling social issues like cancer while celebrating togetherness.
