Preparations for the burial of Masaka businessman Bosco Senyonjo, known as Bosco Bitanda, and his children Sheilina Nakindu and Simon Ssenyonjo Trevor have hit a snag due to a family dispute.

The trio died in a road crash on the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway at Mpala Interchange. They were traveling from Masaka City to Entebbe for a flight to Canada when the incident occurred on Monday.

Nakindu, who lived in Canada, had returned to Uganda to help her brother prepare for studies abroad.

The conflict centers on the burial location: the ancestral home in Kyalusewo Village, Masaka District, or Kaduggala in Nyendo-Mukungwe Division, Masaka City, where the family resided.

Relatives insist on the ancestral grounds, noting that Senyonjo’s father and other family members are buried there. One relative stated during a vigil that they cannot honor the widow’s claims.

Widow Jane Nabukera, who survived the crash along with another daughter now hospitalized, claims her husband wished to be buried on his land in Kaduggala.

Additionally, her relatives report concerns over attempts to access the deceased’s bank accounts.

Police reported the Toyota Land Cruiser (UBG 734S) lost control due to speeding, hitting a street light pole, a road pillar, and overturning. Three died instantly, two were injured.
