Liverpool boss Arne Slot remains upbeat about fan support as his team gears up to reverse a 1-0 deficit against Galatasaray in the Champions League round of 16 second leg on Wednesday.
The Reds have faced the Turkish outfit twice this season in away games, suffering narrow 1-0 defeats in the group stage and the first leg last week. Slot highlighted the advantage of playing at Anfield for the first time against them, backed by loyal supporters.
Recent struggles, including a 1-1 draw with Tottenham where some fans left early and booed, have fueled talk of restlessness. However, Slot insisted the Anfield crowd’s tradition of steadfast support endures.
“They will be supportive again tomorrow night because that is what they have always been,” he told reporters, adding that victories could swiftly shift the mood.
On the injury front, Slot ruled out striker Alexander Isak, while defender Joe Gomez’s involvement remains uncertain after missing training due to ongoing issues. Gomez had only featured against Spurs due to Ibrahima Konate’s hamstring problem.
The team is fully prepared to deliver a strong performance at home, Slot affirmed.
