A tragic accident on the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway claimed the lives of Masaka City businessman Bosco Senyonjo, also known as Bosco Bitanda, and two of his children. The incident occurred around 6:30am at the Mpala-Kajjansi interchange.

The vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration UBG 734S, was heading from Masaka towards Entebbe Airport. Expressway managers reported that the driver likely dozed off due to fatigue from the long trip, leading to loss of control.

Traffic police spokesperson SP Michael Kananura attributed the crash to speeding. He stated the car struck a streetlight base, then a road pillar, before overturning multiple times.

Three people, including the driver, died on the spot, while two others suffered severe injuries. Police rushed the injured to Grade B Hospital for initial treatment before referral elsewhere. The deceased were taken to City Mortuary for postmortem as investigations begin.

Expressway teams collaborated with police to secure the area and manage traffic flow.
