The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) released the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results on March 13, 2026, at State Lodge Nakasero in Kampala, revealing strong improvements in key science subjects.

In Biology, 64.4% of candidates achieved principal passes (A-E), up from 57.7% in 2024, with top A grades rising to 5.9% from 1.1%. Chemistry followed suit, with 56.3% securing A-E passes compared to 40.0% last year, and A grades at 5.4% versus 2.1%. Mathematics saw 64.8% pass A-E, a jump from 48.1%, and A grades increased to 12.9% from 3.6%.

These advancements come three years after salary enhancements for science teachers. However, Physics performance dipped, with A-E passes at 55.7% down from 57.3%, and A grades falling to 3.5% from 6.6%.

UNEB Executive Director Dr. Dan Odongo highlighted gains in Economics, Geography, Literature in English, and Agriculture, attributing science improvements to better preparation while noting humanities challenges from poor question interpretation.

He observed rising entries in sciences and maths, excluding Physics, but declines in Entrepreneurship, Christian Religious Education, and Fine Art.

First Lady and Education Minister Janet Museveni commended girls’ strong showings, especially in sciences, noting their growing participation and success.
