Vipers SC is dominating the Uganda Premier League, sitting atop with 47 points from 20 matches. They’ve combined sharp attacking play with solid defending, scoring 41 goals while conceding only 14 for a +27 goal difference.

The team remains unbeaten on the field this season, with their sole points deduction coming from a Fufa ruling on a forfeited match against Kitara. This setback only strengthened their resolve.

In their last eight league games, Vipers secured six wins and two draws, including gritty 2-1 away victories over Mbarara City and UPDF. Against UPDF, Usama Arafat scored first, with Karim Watambala sealing the win late after a brief equalizer.

A key strength is the distributed scoring. Midfielder Karim Watambala tops with nine goals, Usama Arafat has eight, captain Milton Karisa six, and others like Gusto Mulongo contributing further. Post-Allan Okello, Watambala and Arafat have shouldered the attack effectively.

They’re four points clear of Kitara (43) and five ahead of KCCA (42), with SC Villa on 38. Ten matches remain, giving Vipers a strong edge.

Upcoming, they host bottom-placed Calvary (5 points, winless) at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday at 8pm, after a prior goalless draw. Other fixtures include Kitara vs Buhimba, KCCA at Lugazi, and SC Villa at Entebbe UPPC.
