DJ Nimrod, head of the DJs Association, issued a stern warning to fellow DJs who have criticized his leadership, stating they will be excluded from the newly secured Shs110 million fund.

The funds, obtained through the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), aim to support DJs via a SACCO scheme. Members can borrow money at low interest to boost their creative ventures.

Nimrod stressed that priority goes to registered association members who have attended meetings and supported his efforts. He dismissed critics, questioning their experience: ‘Have they ever done a show? Have they been abroad?’

Past accusations of fund mismanagement during COVID-19 lockdowns persist, but Nimrod denies them. He revealed plans to take Shs1 million from the fund as gratitude to his mother, with the rest managed by the treasurer and SACCO team.

All DJs were invited to SACCO planning sessions, Nimrod noted, so absentees cannot complain.
