Chief Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija of Uganda’s Judiciary has reappointed Justice Stephen Musota to lead the Inspectorate of Courts for a fresh three-year term.

The reappointment became effective on January 25, 2026, following his initial appointment on January 27, 2023. As a Supreme Court Justice, Musota’s renewed role highlights the Chief Justice’s trust in his effective oversight during the first term.

This move complies with Article 133(1)(b) of Uganda’s Constitution, relevant sections of the Administration of the Judiciary Act, 2020, and the Inspectorate of Courts Regulations, 2023.

In his position, Justice Musota will supervise the Inspectorate, which upholds accountability, integrity, discipline, and performance in courts nationwide. It addresses complaints against judicial officers and tracks court conduct.
