Ugandan musician King Michael, real name Michael Mugwanya, shared surprising plans about his personal life during a recent Spark TV interview. He revealed that he prioritizes his daughter’s upcoming wedding over his own marriage prospects.

His daughter is set to introduce her fiancé at a traditional Kwanjula ceremony at their Busabala family home, followed by the white wedding on May 23, 2026, in Entebbe. King Michael beamed with excitement, claiming he’ll be the pioneering Ugandan artist to hand over his daughter in marriage.

“Which artist have you seen giving out their daughter? I will be the first,” he boasted, viewing it as a major fatherly milestone.

King Michael has kept his relationships private, though he reportedly did a traditional introduction with longtime partner Rhona Ndagire over a decade ago. They have two children, including their late son Eric, who died in a tragic hit-and-run on Entebbe Road.

Despite past losses, the singer sees 2026 as a joyful year. “I’ll give my daughter’s hand in marriage first, then think about my own. Come celebrate with us—this year is full of happiness,” he invited.
