Uganda’s exceptional tourism offerings have been recognized on the international stage, earning the nation the “Best Exquisite Destination” award at the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) 2026 in Mumbai, India. The award ceremony, held from February 5th to 7th, celebrated Uganda’s unique attractions, including its stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and renowned wildlife.
Ambassador Prof. Joyce Kikafunda, Uganda’s High Commissioner to India, accepted the award on behalf of the country, emphasizing the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in the tourism sector. This accolade underscores Uganda’s appeal as a prime destination for authentic African adventures.
Uganda’s participation in OTM 2026, its second consecutive appearance, featured immersive displays designed to engage travel professionals and potential visitors from India and across the Asian market. The delegation, comprising representatives from various government bodies and private sector partners, aimed to boost Uganda’s global tourism profile.
