Coronavirus pandemic - Diamond Platnumz will be paying rent for three months for at least five hundred families starting next month
Dad of four, Diamond Platnumz has come out to support some of his fans during the hard times brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic that has left close to 3million infected globally and 203,044 lives lost as of today.
The figures are changing by the minute. Tanzania is trailing slightly below Kenya with 300 Coronavirus infections, 48 have recovered and 10 succumbed to the disease that has brought the world on its knees.
Like many celebrities have come out to give a helping hand, so is Diamond Platnumz, though his contribution is one of a kind.
The Jeje star is to pay rent for 500 families for at least three months. Using two hashtags #TogetherWeCanFightCorona and #ThistooShallPass, Diamond Platnumz confirmed this on Saturday.
"I pretty much know that in these terrible times where we are all fighting global pandemic COVID-19, countless life circumstances have changed, especially in businesses, many businesses are drowning hence rendering to financial difficulties and life becoming a little bit tough for many of us."
"Although I am amongst those affected by this pandemic on Economy, with the little that God has blessed me with, I have decided to at least offer a helping hand by paying 3 months house rent for 500 families as my kind gesture of helping one another during these terrible times of fighting COVID-19 for I believe I should share your troubles and your happiness too."
"On Monday I shall announce procedure on how these 500 families shall receive house rent," He concluded.
Here in Uganda, most artists have been donating mostly food and some of them include Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine, Lydia Jazmine, Spice Diana, Winnie Nwagi, Vinka and Lil Pazzo among others.
We are yet to see one pull and Diamond Platnumz COVID-19 move. As expected, his fans have applauded him for pulling a bold move, we have to wait and see how the same will be implemented.
It is not clear which category of rentals will be taken care of until his interview tomorrow that will air on 88.9 Wasafi FM starting 5am to 8:30am
