The suspension that will last for six months was as a result of scenes broadcasted live from the New Year event dubbed Tumewasha Festival organized by Diamond Platnumz's team, it was held in Jamhuri stadium, Dodoma.

The station had broken the law by televising offensive content of a singer and a popular socialite Gigy Money who rocked the stage in a jumpsuit as she danced provocatively.

"TCRA has decided from the time of this announcement, for the entire day of January 5, 2021 Wasafi TV were to postpone all programs and apologize to Tanzanians for acting against TCRA rules and laws during the Tumewasha Live Concert."

"TCRA has suspended Wasafi TV from airing programs for a period of six months starting January 6, 2021 to July 6, 2021."

"If they go against this directive, TCRA could take harsh actions against Wasafi TV."

In a related development, Gigy Money's Chombeza song featuring Lava Lava has also been banned for a similar period, charged a fine for having removed her gown during the festival in Dodoma.

It is not the first time Diamond Platnumz is being faced with such strikes, some of his songs like Mwanza,  have been banned and he has issued several apologies.
