Kampala revelers have resorted to comedy as a way of entertaining themselves if the last comedy gigs a few days back are anything to go by. Madrat and Chiko's 3rd version of comedy dubbed Nseko Buseko was held yesterday and it was massively attended. It took place at UMA Multipurpose hall in Lugogo, today, they are performing live in Mukono and on Sunday, they will be in Nansana. Several comedians that include Dr. T. Amale and Kalela plus artitsts like Leila Kayondo, Aziz Azion and Bebe Cool entertained fans. On the same day, Theatre Labonita was filled up with comedy lovers for the Comedy Black Friday by OkelloOkello which was a silent comedy, the very first of its kind, it will return again on November 29 at the National Theatre. Advertisements Still on Friday, Senga Nantume had her version of comedy that was held at Theatre Labonita, this left comedienne Anne Kansiime very excited, she congratulated her colleagues, OkelloOkello, Madrat and Chiko on this milestone. Those were three shows happening on Friday and yet Alex Muhangi who brought in Diamond Platnumz last week was equally having his Thursday version of the Comedy Store at UMA. |
On Wednesday, Salvador also kicked off with his version of Just Comedy Ug featuring Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi, it was his wife's birthday, so he tagged most of his jokes to his wife, Daphine Frankstock, it was held at Kingdom Kampala though the revelers were left complaining over parking fees. Inset is Bebe Cool performing at the third edition of Madrat and Chiko that was held at UMA Multipurpose hall Salvador was equally excited about the development. "Super proud of the industry. Comedians are taking it heads on, it gives me a lot of pride, call it all you want, but those who know will support the show of their choice." "Like I said, the industry hasn’t even hit 10% of its potential, the cake is too big you reap what you sow. I’m proud of these guys coz I have witnessed their journey and I’m going to support both of them tonight. This just makes me proud as VP of “The Uganda Comedians Association” (TUCA). Well done Madrat and Chiko, Well done #OKELLOKELLO." |
