Mandela National Stadium gives Bobi Wine a new Kyarenga dateAll is set for the Kyarenga Concert next month...!! 19 Oct 2018 10:53 AM @ugandaonline Bobi Wine fans have got a sigh of relief after Mandela National Stadium (Namboole) accepted to host the Kyarenga Concert on a new date as opposed to cancelling. The development comes with tough conditions. In a document dated (Oct 17) it was agreed that Bobi Wine's Kyarenga concert can only take place on a new date and not tomorrow as earlier planned. The Kyadondo legislator also the owner of One Love Beach in Busabala was forced to cut short his visit in neighboring Kenya to join his team in Kampala that was trying to secure the venue for tomorrow (Oct 20), but that was not possible. The concert is now slated to take place on November 9, 2018 and the gates will open from 6:00am and close at 10:00pm which is two hours earlier than the recommended time for concerts in the central business district (CBD). |
Sponsored | The initial Oct 20 date for the Kyarenga concert could not be availed to Bobi Wine and his crew because of a wedding that is planned for that day. This contract is vital because it is one of the conditions required to seek police clearance and approval for any concert to take place. In the contract, the Kyarenga concert promoter, Emma Promotionz, is advised not to use the turf or grass area of the stadium as there will be a Uganda Cranes football match on 16th November, 2018. Uganda Police is yet to give a no objection, but so far so good because, the contract between the two parties is what is required as confirmed by Balaam Barugahara of Balaam Events who was appearing on Bukedde TV's Akabinkano program.Balaam had promised to help meet the relevant authorities (IGP and his Deputy) provided Bobi Wine's promoter, Emma Promotionz, could avail him with a copy of the contract stating that the concert was confirmed for October 20, 2018. |
It's now left to be seen if the 45,000 plus Namboole seating capacity will be enough for the Kyarenga concert considering that some fans will even come from Kenya following his recent visit. You May Also Like
