Then came the Kyadondo East MP Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine, he was clad in his red overall and black shades as he supported his preferred candidate, Kassiano Wadri who is contesting as an independent.
The Arua by-election will be held on Wednesday (Aug 15), but the final day of campaigns, yesterday, left one dead.
According to a tweet from Bobi Wine, the victim is none other than his driver, Yasin Kawoya, who police says was hit by a stray bullet as security forces were dispersing a huge crowd that tried to attack the presidential motorcade, one of the presidential SUV's had its hind screen smashed.
The Uganda Police Force PRO Emilian Kayima explains further;
"One of the President's lead cars was attacked and smashed by these hooligans that were donning colours of one of the contestants in this election, Mr Kassiano Wadri. Security forces quickly intervened to calm down the situation, and the situation became riotous as many were pelting stones at the convoy of the President - which unacceptable."
"Unfortunately, in the scuffle, one person was fatally injured in motor vehicle registration number UAT416K, a Tundra. He is believed to be dead, but doctors will confirm this. And his identities are yet to be known because we have not recovered any documents on him."
