Veronica Nakiyingi Luggya aka Vinka has been doing music for less than two years, but she is a force to be reckoned with if her Malaika, Tubikole, Overdose, Love Doctor and of course AY is spot on because nothing seems to be stopping Vinka at this rate, she has her very latest dubbed 'Nkubika' which is rocking all dance clubs and dominating various radio station playlists. Before taking on this music journey, Veronica was managing artists with the Muyenga based Swangz Avenue and artists like Winnie Nwagi and Irene Ntale, who quit the label early last year were some of the artists under Vinka's close supervision. They now don't see eye-to-eye. In one of the interviews, Vinka said that she has not received a text or call from Irene Ntale ever since she called it quits with the label that she had been affiliated to for years. It's no wonder that the time Vinka's music career has been fast rising to the top is more or less the time Irene Ntale has been away from the record label. Vinka does not shy away from the fact that she loved dancing more than music recalling the times she used to be a backup dancer for the late Sera and Jackie Chandiru. Two days back, Vinka together with Fik Fameica were performing live in Fort Portal leaving the fans yearning for more after their 'Tubikole' collaboration song that saw her pull off those leg over dance moves. |
AY is not the only top artist that has appreciated this new talent, Chameleone also did when he came out to confess that he was madly in love with Vinka's Chips Na Ketchup song. Vinka is looking at her music going beyond borders and given an opportunity, she would love to do collaboration songs with Nigerian pop singer, Yemi Alade and Naija's WizKid. Locally, Vinka appreciates Sheebah and Cindy. Finally, the Tourism graduate will on August 31 be rubbing shoulders with Jamaican-American reggae singer, Tarrus Riley during the Swangz All Star concert that will see other artists like; Winnie Nwagi, Bebe Cool, Ykee Benda, Mun G, Apass, Navio, Vamposs, Rabadaba and Weasel.
