Waah is a mixture of Lingala from Congo mixed with Bongo flava from neighboring Tanzania as Olomide's husky voice meets Diamond Platnumz's dance moves.
The video was uploaded on YouTube on November 30, 2020 and today, which is slightly over a month, the video has 30,366,710 views.
Diamond Platnumz has videos with more views, but this particular one was two positions short of being the most viewed African song on YouTube in the year 2020 leaving the dad of four with no choice, but to thank the fans for the love.
"Because of your love you have enabled me to better represent our country and get the Most viewed song 2020, but also for the song we released in a short time only #WAAH to take 3rd place .... This shows how much our music is growing..Thank you and to appreciate them, Let us continue to promote our Music to further create jobs, and participate in the growth of our Nation's economy," Diamond Platnumz commented.
While Waah lost the top position, his other video dubbed Jeje featuring model; Salatis took the number one position with over 40million views. The other video that appeared in the top ten of the most viewed African songs on YouTube was Gere that he did with his baby mama Tanasha Donna at position number seven.
The list, unfortunately, does not have any Ugandan artist as it is dominated by Nigerian, Congolese and Tanzanian artists as detailed below;
