UB40 the band that thrilled Uganda a few weeks back was left with seven members after Ali Campell quit the band. The latest coming in from the Birmingham British Reggae band is that another member Michael Virtue has quit the band too.
Michael Virtue the keyboard player quit the group citing problems with the way bosses handle their finances. Michael Virtue said "I can no longer work with the management team. I am joining Ali in his investigation into the handling of the band's business affairs. "I am upset to be leaving but feel this was the only option left open."
Mickey Virtue whose role in the band was keyboards and Ali Campbell of lead vocals have both left the UB40 a band they formed with six others 30 years back. This leaves a vacuum in the band and certainly plunging the band's future into chaos. At this rate it would not be surprising to see that other members may want to follow suit.
Ali Campbell who did his last show here in Uganda with the band has announced his first solo tour in Liverpool Empire on June 16 and tickets can be bought on 0870 735 5000. Ali has not been in touch with the band since their concert in Uganda that attracted over 30,000 fans.
