Uganda's star has been ranked number six amongst the most famous and talented musicians in Africa. The list shows that Senegalese born American singer Akon is in the number one position, followed by 2face Idibia, P-Square in position three, D-Banj in number four and then South Africa's Yvone Chakachaka comes at number five giving Chameleone the sixth position.

Chameleone's sixth position means he beats the likes of Kofi Olomide, Awilo Longomba and Fally Ipupa who follow closely. Kenya's Nameless also makes it in the top ten but behind Chameleone.

Star Dr.Jose Chameleone has been in the music industry for over twelve years. In his entire career he has belted out  churning hits that have swept all over Africa and Europe. Born Joseph Mayanja to Mr and Mrs Gerald Mayanja who still stay in Kawempe, Chameleone is known for his stimulating live performances, and is revered as one of East Africa's most versatile, creative and crowd-pleasing artists.

Chameleone is frequently on demand regionally and internationally. He has been before been nominated for Kora Awards, Golden Awards, MOBO Awards and has won two PAM (Pearl of Africa) Awards for Best Afro Beat Artist and Best Afro Beat Single for Kipepeo as well winning Best video, Uganda and best song, for Mama Rhoda, at the Kisima Music Awards in Kenya.
