Students at Makerere University are paralyzing areas around Wandegeya after two Kenyan students Ignatius Nyongesa and Brian Amuoga were killed by a guard at God is Able hostel at Makerere Kikoni. Anti riot police has swung into action stopping the students from spreading the strike to the city centre.

Tear Gas and Police Pick ups are patrolling the areas around the University area which are now cordoned off. The students were shot during a  campaign rally for Guild Elections and one other suffered serious injuries.

The shooting occurred last evening and the Old Kampala Police Station has already arrested the guard Richard Akasia who is alleged to have shot the two students on suspecting them of trying to break into a car that had packed in the neighboring lot. Police Boss Andrew Sorowen has confirmed that the culprit will be charged with murder.

As Police was battling running battles with the students at Sir Apollo Kaggwa road, a coffin was put on top of the police pick-up as many students were matching towards armed riot police enchanting slogans of ''We Want Peace'' with the surrounding environment filled with tear gas smoke
