The latest information we are getting from our Arua sources is that a pastor of Imvepi Pentecostal Church survived being killed after raping a married woman at Imvepi refugee settlement yesterday.

Pastor Elia Obomba sneaked into the woman's house after noticing that the husband was not around and pestered her into having sex. Obomba grabbed the woman forcefully after she rejected his advances. She made an alarm that attracted residents to come to her rescue.

The pastor fled for his dear life, but the mob was able to retrieve him from his hideout and beat him to pulp before police came to his rescue. Three suspects and the pastor are being held in police custody according to Henry Alyang the spokesperson of northwestern region.

Records show that this is not the first time this pastor is committing this crime. In 2008, One of his female followers reported a case of rape at Arua police but he(Obomba) denied but thorough investigations showed that he had lied to the authorities.
