The report for the Mirembe Arcade that collapsed on Nasser Rd has been released. It was discovered that the contractor employed unregistered engineers and gave them responsibilities they could not handle.

The report also revealed that while no protection was provided for the workers, progress was not supervised coupled with using unqualified engineers. The site was also not insured and there was no plan.

Meanwhile Architects of the neighbouring buildings have also been summoned by the governing body of architects to establish whether or not they followed the required standards. Once guilty, architects can be struck of the register and de-registered according to an officer from the architects body.
