The Daily Monitor has launched a pullout dubbed SQOOP. It was started on Apr 17, 2009 and it will be appearing every Friday. We now bring you the review of the SQOOP. It was a sixteen page middle insertion in the daily monitor newspaper that came out on Friday.
The cover page had Meg Lusembo a model at 23 leaving in her own pad and still going to school. She has over 80 pairs of shoes, joined modeling in 2005 and in under 5 years she has seen it all. In her words she says that the most challenging thing with modelling is ''dealing with the perception that people have of models. They think models are prostitutes especially here and they do bad things, which is not true.'' She happens to be the Feature of the Sqoop.
The SQOOP continues to party pix where Brenda of HB Toxic is launching her fashion label, Bambi with various models showcasing Bambi models while Ragga Dee and Helen do the entertainment of guests.
There is a section which has 4 question marks. One Question mark is just as good but when one makes them more than one, it simply means the question is serious and here are some of the questions the SQOOP is asking: Has the credit crunch finally beaten most of our Telecom companies? Last year they brought UB40, Akon, Wyclef Jean, Kirk Franklin. I mean where are the Shaggy's and Benyonce this year?
The SQOOP continues and this particular one is filed under Conni's Tiffs: She's such a hottie, but can Mya sing? before it crosses to Meg Lusembo's full interview.
It has a section dubbed (Four One One) which seems to be a section on local and International Divas. On the local scene it dwells on Mowzey and Weasel dissing Ange Noir in a new song after they had been suspended from performing or accessing areas around the historical night club. On the international scene it is more of J-lo shaking her ass-ets.
Fashion: Focus on Big Brother 3 Housemate Sheila's outfit on her recent visit to Kampala. The hair and the jewellery were okay but the dress and the shoes were a total off.
