Ugandan troops have captured a senior Lords Resistance Army(LRA) commander in an offensive against the rebels hiding in Democratic Republic of Congo.
Kwoyelo Thomas who arrived in Uganda on Wednesday aboard a cargo plane was on drip nursing bullet wounds on his stomach. The ICC issued arrest warrants for the top LRA Leaders but Kwoyelo is not among them.
Captain Kiconco Tabaro said: "This man has been in the bush for quiet long. He knows the tactics, he knows the methods, he knows the sources of weapons. He has been one of our most wanted commanders. Once he recovers, then we expect a lot from him."
Since December the assault on Kony by Ugandan troops has been on but they have not yet landed on the LRA Leader Joseph Kony.
