IGP Intervenes in Chameleone Passport Saga

This morning star singer Jose Chameleone drove his Range Rover Sport and parked it right at the Tanzania High Commission with his mattress, guitar with placards demanding one Shigongo Eric to return his passport.

Shigongo is the promoter who contracted him to perform in Tanzania which he did but Chameleone's manager and another conman only identified as George, Shigongo lost USD3,500.

The star who had just performed in Rwanda - Amahoro Stadium simply dashed to the Tanzanian Embassy for a peaceful demonstration to compel them to help in retrieving his passport.

A team of police officers in a police pick-up UP-2627 came to the scene and pleaded with him to stop the demonstration. The star later had a meeting with the Inspector General of Police who promised to work hand in hand with their counter parts in Tanzania to have the matter resolved.

It is good the IGP has saved Chameleone from more embarassment. How can the number five artiste in Africa behave like the number five artiste in Soweto?

@trend settah, dont be stupid thats if your not yet one coz your acting damn, im not a fun of chameleon, but his demostrating for what rightfully belongs to him. Any citizen has a right to know as to why his passport is being held, under which circumstances and act of law. He has to b issued with documents that clearly stipulate the reasons and the steps he can take so as to get it back.

We are tired of these so called Celeb who always want to make headlines out wierd things.. If he conned some one he should pay back people's money instead of using his populality to take voiceless peoples money with impunity. I wonder why the whole IGP should beg him not to demonstrate. He should have scooped him with his beddings like gabage and thrown away.

The guy is looking for coverage. If an individual confiscates your property, you go to the police, not the embassy. It's not the Tanzanian government holding the passport.

The ugandan passport is and remains the Property of the government of Uganda.if a third party who is not a national possess it den its the embassy to claim for it and dats their job.so doctor had all the rights of demonstration

I cnt b'live some peoples common sense . Y blame Chamillion for demanding what's his ?? Didn't he give the Tanzanians the show of their life (valu valu )they will never forget ?? Of course he did . If shingongo ddn't make enough mny as he had expected is that Chamillion's fault ?? So u wanted him to just sit bk like a fool when his passport was taken & morevor in Tz like he has no other place to go ??? Dnt judge b4 u know the facts & then comment. He did what any normal person would do in the same sucumstance . Only one who's never held a passport would not no the difference .
