State Television in Egypt has reported that over 73 people have been killed and 1,000 injured in clashes between the fans in the city of Port Said. This led to the cancellation of subsequent matches. The fans set a stadium in Cairo ablaze protesting the move .
It was a rare 3-1 win for home team Al-Masry against Egypt's top team Al-Ahly. Supporters of Al-Ahly took to the pitch outnumbering security officers who were in the process trying to evacuate the players of the Al-Masry team.
