Police has come out clean on the Sunday morning shooting of Luzira residents by one Makmot who used a gun that was got from Agaba's car. Apparently, the demolitions in Luzira kicked off at about 10:30am in demolishing structures that were believed to be illegal at Port-Bell road in Luzira.
Residents were seen pleading with the Deputy Director of physical planning Mr. Agaba that he allows them time to remove their materials but he objected by saying that the residents were given a notice of 56 days.
A woman was seen in the vicinity with an axe forcing KCCA officials to confiscate it. This is when chaos ensued and as expected all sides had to take off for their dear lives. Agaba rushed to his car and pulled out an AK47 rifle and tried to shoot at people, but it failed to shoot before his guard a one Makmot, took the gun from him and started firing.
This trigger happy man was firing at people directly. Some residents were seen trying to save their property but KCCA officials clad in green T-Shirts were busy beating them up. Makmot switched to his pistol probably after exhausting the bullets from the rifle and used it to shoot as well.
The police deputy spokesperson has confirmed that Makmot has been arrested and is being held at Jinja road police station. Agaba has also been arrested.
