PAM Awards Artiste of the year 2008 Juliana Kanyomozi was shocked by the kind of applause Bad Black received when she was released from prison. She was in utter shock with the kind of people Ugandans choose to idolize.
Writing on her wall Juliana said; "It beats my understanding the kind of people Ugandans choose to idolize sometimes. It says a lot about our society. Something's terribly wrong." The 'Sanyu Lyange' star was wondering why Ugandans were idolizing those with money as opposed to heroes, innovators and super stars among others.
Juliana adds "I don't know if I shud call it ignorance or just stupidity at it's best but the thing is we have a lot of great people around us to look up to and be inspired to become better people but no, people wud rather idolize stupid people with absolutely no class."
Looking at how events have been unfolding, it is no surprise that Juliana was referring to Bad Black. The United Kingdom Daily Mail tabloid covered the story forcing New Vision and NTV to intensify the coverage of Bad Black.
Juliana's observation has a bearing on a one Hajji and Nasser Ssebagala. In 2008, one Hajji Suudi Nsereko stole a bag in Mecca and was held for three months before being deported to Uganda. On arrival at Entebbe airport, he was praised. The former Mayor of Kampala Nasser Ntege Ssebagala was even risking for a presidential bid after gaining a lot of fame from his bicupuuli US saga.
