A section of the voters register

The National Voters Register is now online through the Electoral Commission website www.ec.or.ug  which can help the public in identifying any errors omissions and also notifying the commission on all those who may have died so that the appropriate changes can be made.

The service has amused many Ugandans who have tried using it though like any new service, it came with its shortfalls that have to be addressed at the earliest. To get the required results, you must have your card on you or better still you must know the county, parish, village and so on before you can tell that you are there or not.

If you simply entered your name and carried out the search, it service would return zero results however if all the fields like mentioned above are listed, then results will show shortly in a Portable Document Format otherwise known as (PDF).

The move will go along way in addressing some of the issues that have been faced with the previous elections.

Phina Mugerwa who many refer to as Uganda's Shakira had to go with baby Santos to the studio not only to show the baby to her fans but also to let them know that she is still on form even after giving birth.

Phina is very good at shaking her waist to something that has left most of her male fans wanting more of it but with the baby news, she will have to take a break off the stage as baby Santos grows.

The singer is linked to a South African footballer only known as Kenneth. Phina has also released tracks like 'Bampasudde', 'Lwaki Ondaza' and Omufeere among others.

Former President of Uganda and the only surviving Ex-President Godfrey Lunkongwa Binaisa died Thursday Morning from his Makindye home due to Cardiac Arrest. The former President who died at the age of 90 was appointed the President of Uganda on June 20, 1979 and removed on 13 May, 1980. The Presidential Commission took charge until the December 1980 general elections which were won by Apollo Milton Obote's Uganda People's Congress.

The 1980 results were disputed by the current President Yoweri Museveni who launched a guerilla rebellion, that led him to the presidency in 1986.

In the year 2004, the former President married Tomoko Yamamoto that he got off the internet. The marriage lasted for only a year. Government is now going to take over the burial arrangements and they will accord him a state funeral.

The name Kyadondo Rugby Club is going to be changed to Kyadondo Memorial Cub in honour of the people who lost their lives in the twin bombs on July 11. Three men were arrested and remanded to Luzira Prison yesterday on 86 counts of terrorism and murder.
They are believed to have clues on the 7/11 bombs.

Looks like the area is till being haunted by ghosts as this morning a fuel tanker swerved off the road killing one employee of Game supermarket. It spilled over 1000 litres of fuel in the tunnel just by the road side blocking the entry to Kyadondo Rugby Club.

This resulted in a cancellation of special prayers that had been arranged to take place at the blast site for fear of loosing more people due to the many litres of fuel that were seen flowing a few yards away.

For a greater part of the day, this section of the road was blocked and traffic was being directed to one lane.
