Stanbic Bank Uganda has rolled out merchant services to its customers. A product they have termed as the ''first Uganda shilling credit card''. The card is issued under two packages i.e. Gold and Silver.

The cards can be used to purchase goods and services anywhere in the world for as long as a minimum amount is maintained on the account. To qualify for these accounts you need a minimum payment monthly income of 750,000/- together with a stanbic bank account that has been open for six months.

please manage shade some light on the service ,i need and appreciate the innovation but my warry is shall we be safe to shop with it as uganda is known for conmen.again is it important that one mantains 750000= as minimum balance or monthly salary of 750000= .please help to give more info as the service seem to only to favour class of people!!!!i appreciate the sevice you lend to us

I wish to know from the manager of stanbic bank the necessary requirements that qualifies one to apply for a credit card. And will it be safe enough for one to shopping any where in world. Please i need some light and help for more info as the the service seem to favour only certain particular classes of people. Thanks.

does the aplication online affect my acount status if am to allow the whole process go through the online opening- til i access the credit card?

hi i cannot afford that minimum balance for a credit card but there is a cash prize that iam pending for abroad but i lack a creditcard. help me out 0771862134

Hi, The credit card service is awesomely important. I pray that it shouldn't be limited to a particular class of income earners. Let it be open to everyone as much as ATM cards are. You will have condemned the meager income earners to everlasting poverty by denying them the vital credit card service.

I appreciate stanbic bank for introducing credit cards, it's grate but the complication i see there is the limitations put in place. I reguest the management to revise this as it favours only a class of people yet Ugandans who get paid less than that are the majority. Non can complain about this if he/she is outside Uganda, but the jobs of that much is limited and most buisinesses can't work out that big monthly. It's Bernard, thanks.

Dear Stanbic could you please enlighten me on the difference between the silver and gold credit cards. And apart form having the minimum of 750000 shillings in ones account is the credit reference bureau being used in any way to reduce the risk of borrwing form the clients Thank you jane
