Uganda’s Popular Comedy group-The Amarula Family, will be launching their comedy entitled “Akama Ka Chogm” (The Secret of CHOGM) at Hotel Africana.
The comedy explores in a humorous way, the dilemmas’ and pains of hosting the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), in Uganda.
Alan Mujuni, popularly known as Amooti Omubalanguzi, says about 30 million shillings was used to produce the comedy.
Mujuni explains what the play is expected to be both funny and allegoric.
Mujuni, says the cast will in addition to popular radio personalities, feature the Queen of England, who has allegedly arrived to act exclusively for the Amarula Comedy group.
Mujuni highly regarded and well known for his spot-on impersonations of famous musicians, actors and politicians, sees it as a pleasant opportunity to act with the queen.
The Amarula group was recently summoned at Criminal Investigations Department to explain the theme of their play. The authorities were concerned that the play could jeopardize the common wealth heads of state meeting (CHOGM) in November.
The proceeds from this show will go towards charity work.
