Rwanda has given Uganda over 40,000 USD towards the preparation of the Kampala commonwealth business forum.This was confirmed by the Vice Chairperson of the 2007 business forum preparation committee, Prof Maggie Kigozi.
Registering for the forum before June will attract USD 500 in registration fees and USD 1,000 after June and so far over 600 delegates have registered.The awareness Campaign that takes place 3 days before the main CHOGM event will be launched by the President of Uganda today at Sheraton hotel Kampala and later in London come June 2007.
The Business forum organized by the Chairman of the Uganda Private Sector and co chaired by Professor Maggie Kigozi the Executive Director of Uganda Investment Authority will be discussing the following:
- Business Opportunities
- Reduction of trade barriers among member countries
- Boosting information and communication technology as away of reducing the digital divide
- Prospects of increasing trade & Investment among commonwealth countries.
